he Legend of Sleepy Hollow in Concert first appeared at Olympic Park in Lehi, Utah on October 8, 2004. Supported by the Lehi City Arts Council, producer-director Jayme Smith offered an original adaptation of the story designed for the Lehi City Chorale and Chamber Orchestra. The audience response was overwhelming and the show became and immediate success.
Sleepy Hollow American Fork
A new, larger venue was needed to accomodate the growing audience (and production). In 2007 the picturesque American Fork Amphitheater became home for subsequent productions of Sleepy Hollow, under the sponsorship of the American Fork Arts Council. “Sleepy Hollow American Fork” was fast becoming a halloween staple for Utah County families.
Sleepy Hollow Logan Utah
Stories in Concert proudly presents the first production of Sleepy Hollow in the Cache Valley/Logan area. Sleepy Hollow in Logan Utah debuts at the Cache County Fairgrounds, October 19-29, 2012. (To celebrate, you can save 20% off of regular ticket prices when you buy tickets online before September 15, 2012!) We also updated the original website, SleepyHollowShow.com, to have a permanent home at StoriesinConcert.com.
About the Sleepy Hollow Show
The 45-minute production features an active choir, talented actors, and music for a completely underscored narration of Washington Irving’s original ghost story with a climactic visit from a live Headless Horseman.
In addition to singers and narrator, the performance also includes a Foley artist (sound effects artist) who interacts with the cast. Sleepy Hollow provides a striking visual aspect with the choir and characters in full colonial costume pantomiming the action of the story.
The show’s completely unique format (think Prairie Home Companion meets Lés Misérables) continues to delight a growing audience drawing patrons from all over Utah and surrounding states. The first of a future collection of classic literature in concert, Sleepy Hollow will be joined by other Stories in Concert including a planned 2014 production of Paul Revere’s Ride (The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere).
